The Exorcist is the only film that my parents told me gave me nightmares after seeing.
My grandparents used to live close to a big cinema (The Odeon Marble Arch RIP) and regularly saw every film showing, esp on Sunday.

My dad recalls taking his parents to see The Exorcist on Mother's Day as a treat. Done very innocently; it was the big film showing on that Sunday.

My grandmother passed out, as did many others. Lots of vomit, lots of hysteria. My dad said he never saw an audience react with that kind of intensity.

Erkin Koray. If you haven’t listened to him, you really should.

RIP.

Also: Mario Tronti. Haven't gotten around to reading him in depth but operaismo is the only significant current of Marxism that holds some promise to me.

Sixto Rodriguez.

Such a talented and yet humble man, and what a remarkable backstory. Glad I got to see him live whilst the chance was still there.

Yeah, I saw him at the Austin City Limits fest in 2009. He looked a little shaky, but his band more than capably picked up the slack.
