There are a few people who make necks fretted for this. One of them is directly associated with La Monte Young, so I submitted an inquiry over his web form, and...nothing. Emailed directly, and similar radio silence. I'm probably not worthy, so ok.

Turns out, there are several people making these, including Metatonal Music. We worked out the specs, and I put in an order.

This neck needs to go on a body, and I'd had an inclination toward a Tele Deluxe, so I ended up submitting an offer on Reverb for a Squier Tele Deluxe body. I happened to find a deal on Fender Vintera wide-range pickups, so I got those, too. This project's starting to come together.
Heard from Ron Sword, the neck-maker. (That should really be Ron Sword, The Neck-Maker.) The neck's made, and the fretboard's being slotted in a few days.

A few weeks back I laboriously removed the rusty bridge pieces, cleaned up the bridge, and put on roller pieces. I've got to transfer the electronics to a new pick guard, which hosts the new pickups, and then I can put that all back on the body.

Getting a Spaceman-brand Charon germanium-silcon hybrid fuzz. Excited to play with it, and hear how it sounds in person, but it probably won't factor into any finished music for a lonnnngggg time.

Here's a swell demo:

Spaceman stuff is generally very cool and that Charon jumped out as particularly cool.
I just picked up a Sputnik III for an out-of-town friend so it's been sitting on my desk for the past few days; definitely some rad fuzz face sounds to be found with it.

After a few years of looking, I finally found a reasonably (for 2023) priced filmosound projector to convert.
Looking forward to a rat's nest winter project.

Returning the Eventide Blackhole and getting a Boss RV-6. The Blackhole was used and the Stereo switch setting doesn’t seem to work, but even if it did I would still consider sending it back because the shortest Time setting is way too long. I wanted normal verb sounds but that thing seems to be for ambient soundscapers. I originally balked at the RV-6 because it’s a Boss, but it won’t be my recording verb anyway so for practice and gigging it should be just fine.

Fuck it, I can handle being judged for stupid overspending.

(not that it was expensive, just that I have bought too much stuff this year)

That's perfect. That bass should have intercourse with another similar bass and make more of that bass
