We're hate-watching it to the end.
90% exactly how my wife and I are watching it, too. She's probably a bit more invested because of Tom Hardy haha!

I would say it is probably the exact Mendoza Line of TV entertainment.

The finale of Rehearsal was unreal. Absolutely stuck the landing (groan). Made me feel something, too.

I watched the first one last night. What a charming, delightful, and funny man.
We watched the first one last night as well. Pee-Wee is my wife's guy, through and through. Big Adventure is her favorite movie and she owned all of the Playhouse series and The Pee-Wee Herman Show on VHS a million years ago, so she is pretty into this. It's a lot of fun, seeing how it all came together in the first episode.

Yeah, the Pee Wee doc was incredible. He was pretty huge for me as well- There are many childhood photos of me with my nose taped back with scotch tape.

And as most things do these days, it kinda left me full of rage. All of the people out there knowingly hurting kids: the church. the garbage media. tech bros. repressed heterosexuals, closet homos, the ENTIRE RIGHT...are the types who tore him down. An actual once-in-a-lifetime genius. Our society truly deserves what's coming to us. unfortunately, people on that list will suffer the least. And FUCK SAM KINISON, one of the worst celebrities of all time. I wish he'd suffered more.

They've still got it, which is really something for a comedy show 4 seasons in. The deadpan humour gets genuine laughs from me, but it also manages to evoke real pathos.
Jean Smart is one of the best actresses working today.
Okay. Been on board through the most of the second season (first season was GREAT), but this season is really flat. Agreed, Jean Smart is still the gem of the show, but it is super slap-sticky in a way that is goofy more than uncomfortable.

Some of the acting is really, really bad, too. I loved Megan Stalter in the first season, but it's like she fully regressed in terms of acting skills here. Will still finish it, of course.
