She somehow can't coherently give the obvious, "Yes, that was the cause. Such a dark time for our country." I guess she choked on a stack of waffles "Guh, states rights- um how the government er" in fear that she was going to lose the deep klan heritage vote?

Then when everyone wakes up to the news that she shit the bed on a fish in a barrel American civics question she says "They sent a democratic plant in to trip me up!". Classic DNC coup: "What's your take on slavery?".
Good post, 1 like.

US politics are exhausting because they’re not about politics anymore. It’s all just signal and noise.

It’s a tragedy and probably suits those in the upper echelons of power and commerce just fine. While the plebs bicker over bullshit they make bank.

I do mean tragedy. The United States should be a giant messy experiment in what’s possible. For all its massive flaws the US really is a biggest show in town. The EU is giving it a go but stymied by lack of real integration.

And has no one cottoned on to Nikki Haley having the most 1980s pornstar name ever 😂

Her total avoidance of saying “slavery” was completely deliberate and kudos to the audience members that asked that question. She was deliberately not saying “it was slavery” because she didn’t want to upset Trump morons, plain and simple. That should disqualify her from running… Lady Santos

The GOP are totally fucked. The Dems are absolutely awful and only have the right exist in the context of just how fucking insane Republicans have become.

Trump just gets more and more popular in the polls. Young people are the latest group to now be showing a clear FUCK YES for Trump, They're all screw Biden, we want an insurrectionist rapist to institute a nationwide abortion ban and give all our military secrets to Russia. FUCK YES BURN IT ALL DOWN. The more he crimes, the more the people love him. Latinos also now swinging hard for Trump. Clear majorities right across the board. Imagine if he actually came and raped you personally and took all your money and shit in your mouth. You'd love him so much, god you'd die for him if he shit in your mouth. Trump is your man, he is the next President, your eternal leader, your Jesus and your god, the most popular man in the USA, the only one who can fix things, your glorious American Hitler, the man of the people.

Doesn't seem much chance of avoiding it since it's so clearly what the people want, a totally corrupt craven moron who will always do the exact opposite of the right thing, so I'm wondering what's going to actually happen when it happens. I guess NATO and the Paris Climate Agreements are obviously for the chopping block. No more support for Ukraine obviously but would the US start siding more directly with Russia?

Three new Supreme Court justices should ensure total right wing control of the courts for the next fifty years or so, and with that voting rights will be a distant memory. Obviously there will be no more criminal proceedings against your glorious Orange Jesus as he will give himself a full pardon for all illegal acts past and future, so that was all a waste of time. I wonder if he'll try to get any Democrats thrown in jail for revenge? I'm sure he'd like to see Joe Biden and Hillary in prison, and ideally Obama too. Don't know if they'd follow through on that, but who knows, I mean think of all the liberal tears you could drink.

I guess a nationwide ban on abortion and possibly contraception is a real possibility. Gargamel is going to be back in charge of government racism, so perhaps a whites-only immigration policy? They'd probably start with no Muslims, but at this point why not just go full white supremacy? The young people will be high-fiving each other about how anti-woke it all is. But then over the next ten years or so, we'll start to cross those climate tipping points... well, at least we won't know about it, because they'll stop measuring it again and pass another ban on government employees mentioning climate change.

So yeah, good times, I wonder what people living there are anticipating and if there's anything you ought to be doing to prepare for the fall. Obviously people are going to be shocked - shocked! - and terribly disappointed, and there's going to be much wringing of hands as you peacefully hand that gloating criminal total power.

That scenario is not a certainty, but yeah, I think on an almost-daily basis if attempting to move to another country would be an overreaction (my most feasible opportunity to do so would be through my job and would likely involve a move to east Asia.. not exactly a region without risk of war right now. It would also likely not be agreed to by my wife and daughters).

What are the chances that Trump will be convicted before November.. 10%?

I think his plan is to tie this stuff up in the courts until he gets elected.

I don't think it's necessary to move to another country.

that's the thing. wenesday night, talking to a gay 60 year old mexican-korean tech bro at the bar. no job since march, no kids. lived in seattle his whole life, voting blue like he should. thinks israel has a right to exist. simply wants to adopt pets and watch his 401(k) grow until he's worm food.

"the left has lost me with their postmodernism. i used to believe in that but its gotten us nowhere. they can try to persecute trump, it'll only get him reelected."

that's how it'll swing if this keeps up.

Putin's going to spend every last ruble making sure western voters are completely fucked in the head and don't believe anything that hasn't been farted directly into their brains by Joe Rogan, so it doesn't matter whether the left are too focused on postmodernism or if it's all bullshit because that's going to be the story anyway, and whether something is true or not doesn't matter any more, just doesn't matter at all.
