I am reading "Growth Of The Soil." You are right.

I haven't read that one yet (and I emphasize yet, because it's one of my new life goals to track down and read every word this man has written), but I always hear that it's not as powerful as his other works, even though it's "the Nobel prize one."

Hunger is a great one to start with. Mysteries was my favorite for a while, but I recently read Victoria and the last chapter just about knocked me off my fucking chair. Jesus Christ, can that guy write...

You coulda just said "every writer."

Salut!

I agree with you completely, Brett Eugene Ralph. Knut Hamsun makes every other writer look like they're just fucking around. I just did start reading a biography about him called Enigma. Highly recommended.

See, I'm in danger of hijacking this entire thread just to talk about Knut Hamsun. Holy Christ. I seriously have a hard time even mentioning him without looking like one of those screaming girls that passed out when the Beatles walked by. It's that bad.

Salut, lovers of the Sun made of Ham!

And Jesus Christ didn't he just love the Nazis...

Unless you're being sarcastic, you're a fucking idiot. Plain and simple.
