I have an inexplicable/ irrational desire for one that would likely be overcome by some hard truthsA former bandmate of mine bought one shortly after I left the band and I never got to have a razz on it. He seems to have been playing it live for the last five years or so with no complaints. I think there's some sort of long, drawn-out debate about who built these basses over the lifetime of the model run, Kramer vs Hartke or something, I can't quite remember. Anyway, some are supposed to be better than others I believe. Worth Googling anyway.

They look terrible and amazing at the same time.If I could get one for cheap enough I would totally play one.If it were half the price I'd jump on it, or at least see if I could go past the guy's house and give it a test-run to see how the neck feels. And thanks for the feedback, caset & neuloveyou. I'll keep my eyes open and hopefully chance upon something.

I've got one “ a DMZ 3000 “ and really like it for the weird noises and unusualness of it. Something tells me it's a 1974 model but that might be way off. Obviously it's no Travis Bean but they're cool, I think. Would love an original case for mine but don't have one. Paid way too much for it about 8 years ago now but also sold my previous guitar at the time for far too much on eBay so didn't mind and it's in great condition. I also had a Kramer rip-off aluminium headless bass, I think it was called an Alien? I bloody loved that thing, was tiny and awesome to play. The sound quality wasn't amazing but was just so fun. I sold it when I was skint once and have regretted it ever since.
