From what I've seen and read about (which was a few years ago) it looks like he's just doing the violence aspect of Preacher, but without the awesome other aspects of the story.

For Ennis's brilliant take on Superheroes you should check out Hitman (DC) and The Pro, which was a one-shot on Image, which is fantastic.
He also wrote some Judge Dredd stories in 2000AD which I remember really enjoying when I was 14, but I can't imagine they've stood the test of time very well.

Preacher is the best thing he's done, for mine.

Hey Gypsum, it's a gem, isn't it? You are right about his work on Slaine - fantastic stuff. I'm currently loathe to start digging into all this old stuff, as once you get it, I reckon it is hard to stop... When more time and money is available I'll go back. However....
...Charley's War by Pat Mills and Joe Colquhoun is an incredible piece of work that's currently being reissued through Titan books.

I might make an exception for this, which I wasn't aware of being re-released. I remember an interview or introduction with Alan Moore or Neil Gaiman in which they raved about this comic, and I felt sad that I could not get hold of it. Pat Mills at his best (Nemesis and the earlier Marshall Law comics to my mind) is ace. He's a furious bastard!

I love his drawing style.

Which strips does he draw?

He originated Nikolai Dante, then sort of left him for a while, and now he's back.

I prefer Simon's other stuff, though, and his bar storytelling.

Fantastic! I really liked the stuff he did on shimura for the meg, too. Don't know any of his non 2000AD stuff though- can you recommend anything?
Credo!
