My experience of ATP is the dickheads come no matter what, I met as many pricks at the Shellac ATP as at The Shins, Mogwai or the YYYs. What experience I have of the YYYs is totally positive both as a band and as people.

jesus man ,who are you?

actually fuck this shit.. i wil probably not attend another won of these jerk fests.. i got my fill in 2002 with sonic youth... costs a hundred dollars... i spent most of my time listening to the experimental stuff: pita, tony conrad, jackie o motherfucker, i think kevin drumm, i saw some wilco, watched all of califone.. but i culdn't see the boredoms, and it's cuz i had to get thru a sea of people... and actually i didn't get to see that many bands for a hundred dollars.. ... i mean i forget everything cept tony conrad and pita, and some of califone... it's definitely good for some people who want to find out about more shit.. but most of the bands they book, i've seen countless times.. it's not cuz i'm a snob at all.. i just think it's an insult how they book the same bands over and over again cuz they want the big draw.... have i made myself clear? sonic youth headlined two years in a row... and that's just one example of how they book the same peeps.. i wuld've wanted to see scott walker tho..

So, what, that ruined the whole show for you? The band onstage saying that another band were in the audience? That's a 'mjor insult'? OK.

I think its more to do with it being said like it is a mark of approval- because the yeah yeah yeahs like it, it must be good. Celebrity endorsement.

Oops. Should have read his post more closely. I thought he was actually there...no, it was just some review on the internet that was a 'mjor insult' to him.

and weird as it may sound, i actually like what he said about celebrity endorsement... i definitely think it's chicken shit to quote someone and then psychoanalyze it.

alright, i shuld just say this.. what i'm basically decribing when i talk about all tommorrow's parties is that i view it as the county fair of indie rock, or maybe the wal-mart of indie rock.. i liked it at first, but it's too much.... too much money, too many bands.. i usually like every band on the bill.. but from my point of view that's not always a good thing... that's why i wasn't seeing it as ssnob or whatever... i wuld rather in a lot of cases see a new band play with a band that i like.. i don't know man, it's a hard opinion.. but i try not to make character assessments over the internet. comprende? i just don't like big concerts anymore.. the perk is that u get to see bands u wuldn't normally see.

i no i'm being an asshole about the yeay eyahyteyeah.. i'm just having fun with it.

Can I just add that Negative Approach did a version of 'Borstal Breakout'.

I only remembered today, and I haven't seen it recorded anywhere else.
