kerry king, the guy from that metal band is my guess.

oh Slayer... ok... hes ok I guess...

has anyone mentioned Robert Quine, because I would kill people with my bare hands to be able to play like him...

She is a shortie like me. Represent!

Burun had the correct Kaki King.

Robert Quine definitely deserves inclusion here...and I would also add Marc Ribot, and feel like an ass for not mentioning him earlier.

And Tim Sparks.

That's because you are an idiot

Well, at least people have submitted a few women guitarists for consideration since my comment. I didn't see all you Champions of Women Guitarists naming anybody before - and a thread about underrated guitarists would seem to be a good opportunity for that. As for those named:

Ex-Girl and Bleach03 hardly reduce my comment to "a smoking pile of bullshit." Bonnie Raitt isn't underrated; she's a known good guitarist - if you like that sort of thing. I like Mary Timony's playing. But I wouldn't call any of these players underrated.

Yeah, thanks to the Klan, we've made great strides on civil rights in this country.

I'm not sure I get this comment. What does civil rights have to do with guitar playing? The arts is one of the few areas women aren't underrepresented in.

Excuse me while I go watch the WNBA game I tevo'd.
