(long ago) I've known a guy in south of france that had called his "brutal death" band Cafard. Wich means coakroach in french. Soon after this wonderful idea, he insisted that everybody should call him Cafard too.
I guess the advertising campain worked, because ten years later I remember everything about that local superstar:

In '99 I moved to Oregon and started my apprenticeship. At the funeral home we had a woman in her fifties who would come in and style the hair. They had warned me to just ignore her, but wouldn't be specific as to the particulars. So she comes in and we're introduced as we both are working down in the embalming room. She starts giving me the third degree, and I can't remember why but I mentioned my wife's grandmother's name, Alvine, who lived in Kentucky. This lady drops her mouth open and gasps, "But that's a negro name." Now looking back on it, I had a glorious opportunity there to mess with this ignorant person, who had not yet met my wife, who is not black. But I was only a couple of days into a new position in a new town and I let it go.
