I am but a simple man, with a regular job and life, doing what I can to get by and amuse myself just enough to not go insane.

he was apparently so obsessed with nick drake that he made a 2007 video simulating drake's suicide.

we all know how drake offed himself.
Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.

Not true.

It's a video set to "Black Eyed Dog" that was supposed to be included in some video installation/multimedia thing about Drake that's going to be screened at...I want to say Bumbershoot but I can't remember.

In the video, Ledger "drowns" himself in the bathtub.
I make music/I also make pretty pictures

I'd like to see these guys. I have a 7" or two, and some comp they're on, but I've never bothered to look for an album.

They're still doing the 3 bass thing, right?

They were good, but not great. The song that I liked the best was identified by RIII as being one of their early ones; I felt they stopped some of the others just as they were getting really interesting. They seemed nervous, perhaps, though affable. My appreciation wasn't boosted by my being a little tipsy and joking foolishly about how the one without the beard looked like Michael Madsen. (And they were far too nice for an oafish shout for "Stuck in the Middle".)

Last night they had one bass, one baritone, and one up front making electronic, odd synthesised sounds; which worked well. I had a feeling that on a good night they might do something quite special.

Apologies for such a vague description. I remember that you have a 7" Rothko, because that started off this delightful exchange!
