You all covered all of my bases except one: Is it Andy or Adam Sandburg? Sanberg? Samburgh? Whatever the fuck his name is, not funny.

I always find it funny how everyone always thinks the show's bad right now but was okay three years ago. Then, three years later, it's always "no, 3 years ago was great before this guy left, now it sucks." Mid-late '90s really did suck, though. I think they leaned more heavily than ever on shitty recurring characters. Did Mango and the cheerleaders ever get a laugh out of anyone over 12?
Yeah, there have been particularly good and bad eras, but generally speaking it's always been uneven--even the real early years.

You're right about that. I absolutely hate it when people say the early years were so great. Aside from the terrible, terrible, terrible Chevy Chase, most of the skits couldn't have passed for funny ever. For every Michael o'Donahue (who was hysterical), there were about 12 skits like 'The Bees'. Shudder.
I don't care if it was a "classic" or whatever. it was pretty crap.

no way.
penelope, the one-upper? the "excited to throw a surprise party" lady? the target lady?
you really think that's funny?
yikes...
unless, of course, you agree that she's not funny, but don't find her attractive. that's more easily forgiveable than laughing at her terrible suze orman impression.

Your point, sir, is not convincing.
