i agree! it's the song on the second album that sounds more like it should be on the better first album but is even better than the whole first album! (and i like both of those records, by the way...)

This abysmal track is actually a re-write of Bowie's very very good
Scary Monsters-era instrumental "Crystal Japan".
whoa. So Trent was covering Bowie? Who was Mogwai covering with "Sine Wave" off of
Rock Action?

Whoever said 9mm by Butter 08 is absolutely right, it's an amazing song on a mediocre album.
I'll add these to the list:
Johnny and Mary by Robert Palmer
John Henry by Burl Ives
Military Madness by Graham Nash
An obvious one: Melt With You by Modern English
Aspenglow by John Denver
Milkshake by Kelis
Rich Girl by Halle & Oates
Simple Kind of Life by No Doubt
Can't Get You Out Of My Head by Kylie Minogue
and I'll second Clocks by Coldplay--a dreadful, dreadful band, but those triplets get me.

"Jesse's Girl" is an incredible pop song!
It's awesome!

I prefer
"Good Girls Don't" to "My Sharona", although
the "headlights" on the 45 rpm cover of "My Sharona" were difficult for Young Montebianco to ignore.

"Cherry Bomb" is my favorite song by this loser.

Reading over the Dave Matthew's crap/not crap prompted me to look into his stuff. Bad, bad music. However, his 'big hit' 'Crash Into Me' is mostly good.
Nice atmosphere, subtlety and (sometimes) use of his voice.
The lyrics kinda suck though.

"Rio" by Duran Duran
"Social Climber" by Ritual Tension
"Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen
"Yes" by the Manic Street Preachers
I'm sure there are many, many others...

Okay, so that fucking corpopop R&B single, "Me & U," by Cassie. You've probably heard it - it's intensely, aggressively anonymous. Fuck, even the title is empty. Vocal is delivered in as flat a tone as possible and autotuned beyond recognition, backup vocals are nigh vocoder, beat is plinky Final Fantasy keys and a shockingly dry drum machine, with occasional touches of fuzzy synth keys.
I really like this song, but not for the reasons I'm supposed to. It's not sexy, not in any normal way. I find it incredibly creepy, with this incredibly dead vocal and the virgin/whore tension in the lyrics. It weirds me out.

I disagree. That whole album,
Days of Future Passed, is brilliant.
Try it sometime. Please. For me.
