Thank you very much for your compliments and insights. Double record, eh? Yeah, maybe I could arrange the best of all my demo tracks over the years; only problem is a lack of consistency... all of that stuff seems to occupy quite a range, some of it drawing from all sorts of disparate things like: 1991-1998 Sepultura/Soulfly (I have an appreciation for the dynamics of that stuff, thought I'm no fan of nu-metal... the recent industrial-ish song, titled FIGHT!) http://db.tt/3Rnt65og, Newer Sepultura (rhythmically) and Grohl-era Killing Joke (a trip down the blade, a cool exercise in odd timings on my youtube and myspace pages) - http://bit.ly/u5Za3cI did an ode/tribute to tribal metal back a couple years as well, it was basically a unit i was putting myself through, I was trying to learn/pin down the dynamics of that relatively unpopulated genre... here's a private youtube link as I've kinda hidden the track as I feel that it almost clashes artistically with my other stuff; it's called torture at the end - http://bit.ly/u7fykbReally basic QOTSA (drive you on my myspace) http://mysp.ac/ub9SX1, Tiny Music-era STP (in the sea on myspace) http://mysp.ac/srDugQThe Melvins (thoughts upon close examination of a destroying angel, youtube) http://bit.ly/nJOel0And the tunes that I can't directly point at a specific influence:This chill and intimate-sounding 2006 tune, I have no idea what influenced it - http://mysp.ac/vTTmADMy favorite of my 2006 recordings (trust the flow) http://bit.ly/sOjrUsThis 2009 hard-rock concept (The Iron Lion) - some have said it has riffs that feel like Megadeth (not one of my influences), The Melvins and Bleach-era Nirvana in parts... http://bit.ly/sSz8OJA lot of that stuff is incomplete, some of them are just verse and chorus ideas.I do feel like the new stuff recoded/written in the last couple months however draws from my influences (and includes a lot of newer ones) but mostly manages to blend them all together so they sound like me as opposed to my influences... I've been kinda down on myself artistically-speaking regarding my influences as I've thought they've shined through a little too much, but my brother and other friends of mine have recently reassured me that although some of my influences are sonically there, I twist them up enough with my own feel that they thankfully stand apart.I'm pretty much 100% focused on all-new material right now (for example I'm really digging the newest tune The Great Failure... http://db.tt/yXSoJiHO), but maybe when this is done I'll take a harder look at the pile of demo-ish stuff I have amassed...
