I had one of these in a tele and really liked it. Then my very good buddy borrowed that tele for several years and toured the world and made two fantastic records with the band Lower Dens using it and HE really liked it. Then like a fool I sold it.

I'd guess that 8-10 is "Hot..."?

If so, might be worth taking a look at the Manlius Barnburner. Might be a little to "RAWK...." for some folks though...

Oscilloscope

I have a functioning reel-to-reel machine again and I guess this is a needed tool for proper calibration.

I have heard the sub $100 ebay digital ones are not great for audio use due to latency, but I'm also a little concerned about the boat anchor models that are well-aged at this point.

There's one on local FB market place that "turns on" but beyond that I don't even know what to do w/ it to know if it is properly functioning.

I'm of the opinion that if I can justify $500 for a second or third tube amp, that $300-$500 for a decent oscilloscope is well worth it to enjoy troubleshooting for the rest of your life. I love Rigol for the function/value

Anyone have recommendations on a road case to use for an Echoplex? Might have some fly-in gigs coming up and I'd like to bring it along. Currently thinking about one of those Gator "mini-lunchbox amp head" cases, but all suggestions welcomed!

Maybe a Pelican that fits it? I'd trust that over anything Gator makes. In all my years, I don't think I've ever seen a broken pelican case.

Another option is Nanuk, Canada’s answer to Pelican.

SKB iSeries probably has something too.

In all those options you’ll have to cut foam for fit.

I think probably the key area of concern here is the tape transport mechanism, no? In which case you could put it in a titanium cube and it wouldnt matter because you want to keep the thing from getting jostled more than you do keep it safe from big impacts or loads. Basically no matter what you'd want to coddle it it so the toughness of the container isnt a mega priority. Just my thoughts...
