Not totally solid, but some tracks here are SO GOOD if you're into stupidly cheerful upbeat pop.

^ I think what gets me about these songs is there's a layer of melancholy following them around. Even when they're super-super happy it's like a happy that emerges from sadness. It's like they express a kind of joy, appreciation, aspiration, in a very naive (sincere and simple, innocent) way, but then there's also something cracked there.

I cannot get into that Lewsberg record AT ALL, and pretty much everyone I know loves it and was raving about their recent US tour. I guess one person’s practiced minimalism is another person’s tossed together in five minute boring jangle.
I’ll likely still give it another chance at some point since lots of folks who’s taste I respect love it!

Did a top 10 of the singles I've been vibing with this year and it turned into a pretty awesome mixtape.
Side A
1. Hannah Diamond - Affirmations
2. Internet Islands - Passenger
3. Lolo Zouaï - Encore
4. Tate McRae - greedy
5. Baby Queen - Quarter Life Crisis
Side B
6. Towa Bird - Wild Heart
7. Crawlers - That Time of Year Always
8. María Isabel - I Drove U Crazy
9. Äyanna - Girlfriend
10. Cat Burns - People Pleaser
My friend told me about this band earlier in the week and holy shit, this album fucking rules.
Flooding totally sip at the cup of bands like Codiene. Really great low tempo bummers with really quiet to explosively loud dynamics. One of those rare albums that I knew would be special within the first few seconds.

Oh weird, I thought that band was done. (I think they are, session is from 2019)
New Imelda Marcos is fantastic. Admittedly I'm glad they're back to being an instrumental unit.
