Maybe it belongs in the Indie Rock Confessions thread, but I love every single one of their records, including the glossy ones.

Wood Goblin wrote:Rhino just released a Don t Tell a Soul box set that tries to undo the damage that the mixer did to the original release. I m skeptical of this kind of revisionism ( œHere is the record the way we originally wanted it, because we can still remember exactly how we wanted it 30 years later ), but the new mix of œTalent Show sounds fantastic. It reminds me of All Shook Down ”the only sonically good sounding major-label Mats record. The bonus material looks great too.But because they re The Replacements, and because being The Replacements means screwing things up, the box set consists of four CDs and one LP ”a format guaranteed to make nobody happy. I want to get it, but I m going to hold out for a vinyl + download edition.I'm pretty damn happy(you also left out the cassette with the first five hundred ordered). As for what's in green, what is there to be skeptical of? You don't have to remember what you have consistently said you would have done for years.

I had a girlfriend in high school who was into Don't Tell A Soul. We spent hours making out to it. Ahh, making out to records. That's a nice memory. Not crap. Thanks for the teenage boners, 'Mats.

I would like to point out that there's a Static Taxi album on Spotify - the first time in my life that band's music has been available to me.The songwriting and singing is spotty, as you could guess, but my god is it nice to hear Bob Stinson play guitar/songs that I haven't heard before. He is, to this day and even on this album, one of the greatest rock soloists I've ever heard.
