There's a very critical fine line whether Subway is
a) fast, or b) good at any given point in time.

Sometimes, you have a really awful manager of the Subway. In which case, fast or not, it's crap.

However, if the manager doesn't suck, it's a die roll whether the food is worth it or not.

If there's no line, you are fucking set. You order, and within minutes you have probably the best major chain fast food a bit of money can buy.

If there are at least two people in front of you, these are the very two people that will be constantly changing their fucking mind about what they want on the sandwich. By that point, the server waiting on you will be so frustrated, he or she will just drop the ball on preparing your sandwich properly -- and you'll end up with a slow, crappy sandwich.

NOW THAT YOU KNOW... if you go to a Subway and there are people in front of you, I highly recommend using a stun gun on these people in line. That way, your Subway experience will be fulfilled within the crucial quality *fast* food threshold.

I get the same sandwhich everytime though. Nothing with meat or cheese.

My friend worked in a subway for awhile, the owner was missing a hand.
We referred to the shop as 'Nubway'

It was unsettling watching him make a sandwich, to say the least.

Probably now the most ubiquitous fast food outlet in town. I think each shop is operated by a different franchisee and there doesn't seem to be any control over where new shops can be opened. The sandwiches are fairly disgusting, although marginally better than the other fast-food options available in the UK. The best option is to get so many jalapenos and olives on your sandwich that you can't taste anything else.
