I just got an ampeg SB12 for 1100 at a local shop. Not sure if it is the best deal ever because I only ever look at B15n but this thing sounded clean and good and it seems like a good price for pretty much any flip top these days. It's a fantastic baritone amp and pretty great for guitar and bass too at low volumes. Bi like it. I've wanted another floppy since the b15 I bought in highschool died in the late 90s. I love it.

I've been seeing flip tops for great prices - I don't know if it's because of modelers or what but they're kind of the perfect smaller bass rig, not sure what the deal is.

I wonder if it's some mix that those amps aren't super loud "DOOOOOM" amps so they're not as valuable now as a Model-T, and probably a lot of studios that were holding on to them have closed so there are more on the market. Oh and boomers selling off amps as they retire/die/do the class D boogie.

That's my guess. I'm going to use it for light basement jams and recording so to me it is perfect loudness. If you crank it for bass it gets pretty flubby and overwhelms the speaker but with a guitar you can get plenty loud with it and it stays stable. I love small amps.

50 and 100 watt tube bass amp prices aren’t going up with the times, either. More for me

I have noticed a few old guys offloading gear they bought back in the day.
It might be the economic death spiral we're in though.

Amps aren't selling at all right now. I've got inventory I've been sitting on for a month or so, priced to sell, and it's crickets out there. I think everybody is hunkering down given the current state of affairs.

This checks out. I've been busy but largely with international orders.
