Kudos for being that incurious about what lies outside the United States. Fucking awesome.

He should be ashamed of himself for not taking advantage of all that free international travel.

My amplifier has returned from the boffins at the factory and it's still broken.

Ooof, I hope you find it soon, or can replace it quickly.

How many times have you sent that amp for repair? It seems like you're always sending an amp to a boffin, and the boffin does not do his job.

Maybe you have a large number of amps in need of repair, I'm not sure.

the amp thing...fuck. i hate that shit. i cannot stand non-functioning, breaking, untrustable gear. simply. can't. stand it.

I also rarely lose things but this is a rare occasion and instead of a plectrum, a book or some shoes, I have lost my cocking passport.

The amp thing is a right royal pain as it's something of a rarity and a secret weapon of mine. It's been bulletproof for years and now it conks out.

yesterday, i bought a sewing machine on a whim. As a kid I did a lot of sewing projects but haven't done any in years. For my first project I'm going to make my boyfriend a really excellent tie.

woke up in a hurry thinking that i was late for work and the alarm never rang.
it was 3.30 am. it's official, i'm stressed. these days we're way too.. "emotionally overwhelming" perhaps. i quit my therapy (2 years and half), i'm in some odd relationship with this girl and i'm fighting constantly with my mother and treating her badly. he's searching for a house and it's way too picky, doesn't have time, really needs to move out and it stresses the hell out of me. oh well.

Fag!

I kid. When I was a young teen my grandmother bought me a sewing machine for Christmas, totally out of the blue. I've since wondered if it was some traditional Sicilian "gay test."

The boffins are probably all too busy sleeping on narrow mattresses filled with chopped cork...

Lost as in "in your bedroom...somewhere...", or lost as in "fell out of your pocket, whereabouts unknown"?

Either way, you don't need a passport to get into Scotland any more, so you'll still be OK for this weekend.

Hope you find it.

That's a beautiful part of the country that would be marvelous to drive through today.

It was awesome. Things might be different if I'd grown up in the West, but as it is I never tire of that blacktop / light green /dark green / sky blue palette. After spending the night in a real bed at the National Ornamental Metal Museum, driving through Tennessee the next day was almost as beautiful.

Two days ago, I was practicing the piano in the music building at UNC. I'm trying to learn the first movement of Barber's "Excursions." It's beyond my level, but I don't care to learn anything easier right now, so I'll just work on the Barber until I get it. As I was stumbling through the first page, I heard the door to an adjacent practice room open and close and someone sitting down at the piano.

Whoever it was began to play Excursions No. 1 with complete fluency at the proper breakneck speed. I tried to practice more, but between wanting to listen to the other person and no longer wanting to listen to my own playing, I couldn't, so I left. As it was near closing time, he or she had had a choice of about 30 vacant rooms, and chose the only one next to mine.

The chick that sits in the cube over the wall from me talks really loud all the time. Yap, yap, yap all fucking day. Driving me absolutely apeshit. The first day she moved to this cube she started singing bits of disco songs. The bits were so random it sounded like she had some form of tourettes. I knew I had to nip that in the bud right away. I went to her cube and asked if she had headphones on. She did and I told her that although she couldn't hear herself singing everyone else could. At least the singing stopped. I hear every detail of her life as she gabs on the phone etc. Today she ordered a fabulous flower arrangement for a cousin getting married which she showed to everyone that happened by. She is going out of town this weekend for the wedding. And she is flirting with a guy on some dating site. He is apparently kind of "dorky" but she thinks that might be ok - at least for a first date. She has to leave early today to pick up her dry cleaning before it closes at 6:30 then she is going for a pedicure. Everything to her is "so funny". I can still hear her through the music playing in my headphones. I have a headache.
