An old New York roommate's boss, a contemporary artist of considerable renown, had a thing for sailors. We're talking a major fucking yearning for seamen. For this person, Fleet Week was like Christmas, Halloween and New Year's rolled into one. The perfect excuse to get dolled up and carouse hardcore all week like, well, a lonely sailor on shore leave.

For the rest of us, yet another reason to avoid Midtown. Like you need one.

I'm starting to hate my neighborhood bar. I have never received so many ill delivered comments than when I ordered a shot and a drink yesterday at Happy Hour.

Going with a very nice lady to see a very nice play called Glengarry Glen Ross this evening. Should be nice. I've seen this play once a year for the last three years.
