This statement is spot on.

You should see them live, with practically any lineup that has George. They are yards better live than in studio, except for the early years.

You're not kidding about him being high - he burned one down on stage when I saw him. People were passing joints in the crowd.

Best show I've ever been to.

I had to catch the bus to drop a guitar off to Tom Stack this afternoon and there was this woman on the bus on the way home that sitting down looked kinda chubby. She was leaning forward so it looked like her fat was just in that weird position where just hangs over her pants a little. I'm thinking whatever because this is Milwaukee. When she got off the bus I looked out the window and it looked like she was wearing a half shirt (she wasn't) and her fat was oozing out of pants and making this really small tutu-like skirt over her jeans. It was kinda gross.

No I was referring to crack. George Clinton is a notorious crack head and I have several friends who've hit the stem with that crazy dude. There are probably countless G-Rock stories out there.

Yeah, I knew that too - my badass guitar teacher knew the P-Funk guys growing up and told me George is a total crackhead. I'd forgotten though until you reminded me.

Nina wrote:I just finished listening to Funkadelic's By Way of the Drum from 2007.

Really sad that the version of Sunshine of your Love that they do is the best thing on the album.

I shouldn't have let my curiosity get the better on me, damnit.

Yeah I wouldn't have listened to that if I were you. However I find P Funk to be a bit overrated, even during their better years. Not un-great, just overrated.

Agreed.

I love me some early Funkadelic, nothing in the world makes me happier than MB and s/t. Not even sex.

I was hoping that since he stuck the Funkadelic name on the latest album that it would possibly sound like well, Funkadelic. Instead, it sounds like George met up with some 80's folks in a bad disco and recorded some half-jam lameness.

You know, it's Funkadelic, I had to at least try.
