Bullshit. Naming a band Rapeman (which by the way, isn't directed at anyone) is completely different.

Not "completely different" or exactly the same. Let's see, a deliberately unfunny joke band name with rape in the title. Surely there is a small similarity there? You don't see it? No? Oh well, how convenient for you to miss that.

Dave asked Rick first, and rightfully Nina got upset. Then, he had the balls to ask her that? Come on.

She *chose* to be offended as an opportunity to launch an attack on Dave. Don't get me wrong, the joke was offensive and perhaps bullshit needed to be called in a less pious way, but really it's nothing compared to the combined total of bile that's been spewed over the last few weeks by a certain nameless cuntbag.

This is all basic classroom bullshit:

Bully attacks.
Victim eventually retaliates.
Bully pretends to be victim.
Everyone takes side of bully.
Cycle goes on.

If you're going to "parody", even shoddily, then make it at least topical, not about fucking rape.

I didn't miss anything. You're missing the fact that "Rapeman" isn't directed towards anyone in particular, whereas Dave asking Rick, then Nina. But of course, you'd stick up for that kind of shit.

She "chose" to be offended? Bullshit. You and Dave have no clue whether or not she might have been in that circumstance, or any one of us. There's a big difference between attacking someone about their beliefs (i.e. banking, politics) and going at them with some inappropriate rape comment.

I called him out because of his attitude towards it. "If Nina wants an apology...", how much more insincere can one get?

It's not even surprising you'd come to Dave's rescue because you obviously couldn't give a shit either way. Why would you even post about this, it obvious you couldn't care less about what goes on in this thread.

I'm not missing anything either, hence use of the description 'similar' as opposed to "completely different" or 'exactly the same'. Doesn't matter that it isn't directed towards anyone, it could still and did offend people (not me). There is a parallel there, especially in Nina chosing to be offended by Dave's first use of the joke which *was not directed at her*. You don't see it - fine, moving on...

I think people need to step back, take a deep breathe, and mutually agree to cease with the name-calling and invective. Or, even if its not mutually agreed on, people should stop the name-calling on their own part, and let the jackasses who can't control themselves, ridicule themselves by being bathed in their own stream of shit.

They will eventually stand out and be obvious, if they aren't already obvious.
