Hmm. Kind of a strange request. Don't know if you're completely serious.

Anyway...

I'm not aware of any "jamming" device for audio equipment. Radios and cell phones like to make a lot of noise in musical equipment. That is if they are strong enough, or if you get them close enough.

But how about a more practical approach:

Knock on your neighbor's door and explain to them that you don't mind a little bit of music now and then, but, for example, it's four in the morning on a Tuesday, and you'd like to get some sleep.

As long as you aren't an aggressive prick to them, they should/will consider your request.

We really need some more details of your situation if you want good answers. There are lots of musicians/"people who like to listen to a lot of music really loud at all hours of the day" here on this board and they can probably give you some good advice on how to handle loud neighbors.

Buy a copy of Mike Patton's "Adult Themes for Voice". Place your speakers against the wall which you share with your neighbors. When they start partying, play this album through your stereo full-blast.

Problem solved.

I lived next door to some "ravers" that would come home at 4 AM and blast drum n' bass shit until 7 or 8 in the morning. After asking them SEVERAL TIMES, NICELY, to keep it down and no results, I decided to try the above-mentioned method.

It worked.

Best of luck.

do you own or have access to a nice, powerful bass amp? there was only one time i ever ran into this, neighbors listening to music too loud and also refusing to turn it down cause they didn't feel like harshing their buzz, bro. so i took my SVT810 (w/300W solid state head) and pointed it at the wall i shared with them, hooked up my cd player, and i forget what i played, i think it may have been nine inch nails. they were hippies, so i think it was either an "industrial" or "metal" disc.

if they're making you miserable, you can always return the favor. if you're already annoyed, you might as well be listening to really loud music that will piss them off right back.

it's a technique called noise cancelling. basically, it's a circuit that uses a microphone to pick up the noise that's being generated, and then it inverts the polarity of the signal. it uses speakers to drive the negative of the signal, which (in theory) should cancel out the sound (X + -X = 0).

because of circuit limitations, it usually only works for low frequency stuff (below a couple hundred hertz). but, this is what usually goes right through walls and stuff anyways.

it's used a lot for helicopter traffic reporters, so you don't hear the WAP-WAP-WAP-WAP of the blades during the broadcast.

it'll probably be expensive to implement it in your apartment. i'd just try to get them to turn it down. or have them killed and poured into a concrete foundation somewhere. for example.

My friend emplyed the same solution, though he substituted a hard slap of the low E for the CD player. 500W (?) w/ a 2x15 cab w/ an 8" in it. Said he could hear shit falling off of their shelves. Didn't have much of a problem after that.
This is going to get worse before it gets any better.

there was a post about anoying your neighbors to the point that they will give up.... but i could not find it thru the search. any way all these suggestions are completely feasible, however this fellow mentioned positioning a speaker to an adjacent wall, and blasting something like 15hz into their space. he just left it on all day while he was out. what is great about this is its inaudible, and supposedly can have adverse affects on a person. how well or fast this would work, i dont know. but it would be worth a try, especially if you dont want to deal with them......

that's gotta be the most passive aggressive response possible.... make them feel moderately unwell but with no clue of the source? not exactly a surefire way of solving the problem, either.

i would just paint "shut the fuck up" on a piece of plywood and hang it on the outside of their window
