Can't help with an NYC tech but the MDI Precision Motorworks web site is a good source of mechanical spares and information.
Cheers.
James.

jeff gilman @ MDI Precision Motorworks is the man to go for in the northeast (these day possible the country) for otaris. he used to build custom parts for the MTR-90 mark ii to make it a more stable, better machine. however, he won't come to you. his days as a tape machine tech are numbered since less and less machines are popping up. he's still working on 2-tracks but he's usually selective about his multitrack work. i have nothing but good things to say about him, and countless engineers much more noteworthy than myself would agree. good luck!
