Very good. I love the pork chops in apple cider... also, her meatloaf is great. Not so keen on the hamloaf...

ah, difficult.

she cooks meat well, as i recall. but i've been vegeterian since sixteen, and i must say that her veg. repertoire is a bit thin.

her mashed potatoes set a mean standard though, and she gets pasta to that just exactly al dente point i've only otherwise experienced at the restaurant.

not crap. i mean, it's mom we're talking about here.

My mom won first place in a cooking competition at the state fair 5 years in a row when I was a wee lad.
She's like a mad scientist in that kitchen.
There are always strange and delicious pies and cakes and cookies everywhere at the parents pad.
She made me some kind of chocolate balls with whiskey in the center just last weekend after I asked if it was possible.
So yeah the most not crap ever for my momma's vittles.

Gentle LAD, my ma was with Rosa Luxembourg at the barricades.

She would have resented your presupposition of oppressive, socially prescribed gender roles.

My mom is an overall great cook, but her baked goods are superb. She makes one hell of a pie, and her chocolate birthday cake is otherworldly. It's good enough to make spending time with my dad almost tolerable.

Funny, I heard your mom wouldn't be offended because she's a pig and forages at the bases of trees for grubs.
