Mini-Kegs

Today at the liquor store I found a surprising array of beers in 5-liter casks. They ranged from the familiar [Grolsch, Heineken, Bell's Oberon] to the esoteric [Kostriker, Bitburger, and various other German brands]. They were all in the $18 - $22 range.

By my calculation, each of these kegs would yield just an ounce shy of 15 regulation beers.

So, at fifteen beers for twenty bucks, are they worth it? Does the product taste as good as (or better than) its bottled equivalent? The cost is pretty much a wash versus bottles. So much for the bulk discount. But maybe there's a compelling reason to buy the kegs, apart from not having to haul out all those empty six-packs in front of the landlady.

I suppose you could make lamps out of all the empty kegs. But my apartment is pretty small already.

I think you'd be alright with those mentioned, save Grolsch. It takes a long time to get that taste of ass out of your mouth. Pony kegs rule.

It would go down like this:

Chrysler: "burrrrrrrrp"

Sunset Gun: "Who swallowed the fucking skunk?!!"

tee hee!
