Anyone know where I can get the tech info on these? Any experience using these, i liked it on guitar cab but want to get specs on it.

Thanks Rodabod. So does this mean I have to use a 12v power supply or can it run on 48v? Anyone know?

Hi,
i've got a Gefell MV691, but i use it with a M94 capsule. i really love it for a lot of things.
i found mine in Germany, and a lot of them can be found on ebay.de; you can find different models:
- the old Gefell mics are 12v powered, and need an external power supply (the gefell N691, one power for 2 mics), but they have Tüchel connectors, and a Tüchel/XLR adaptator has to be made to get the signal out of the power supply (but it's very easy to do)
you can found this ones for really cheap prices, a lot of people sell them because they can't connect them!!
- the ones who have been modified and who can be 48v powered from the new XLR connector (those ones are the most expensive, even if you don't need the external power supply, because they are "ready to use" )

Thanks Miguel. Now the headache is either tracking down a power supply or having someone modify it.....
any suggestions?

I had a pair of Gefell PM750 solid state microphones that I had modified to accept 48V. I now only have one of them. Anyhow, about 3 years ago I sent them to this compnay in Germany called Power Techniks. They did a wonderful job and it was pretty reasonbly priced (less than $300 for both mics, shipped there and back). Turn around was very fast. Im not sure if they are still around, but I still have their email address, so you may want to give them a shot:

So from what I can tell I need:
two 180-1% resistors
two 100uF Capicatros
a 150:150 transformer
two 4K7 resistors
a diode 1N5242B
A tuchel connector and an XLR connector
and a metal box to put it in.
can I find this stuff on Digikey, most of my soldering experience is with guitar electronics and I did build the TapeOp Omni mics..

I'm a little confused by this. I have a Gefell MV692/UM70, which I built a power supply for, basically just a pair of caps to decouple pins 2 and 3, and on the mic side 12v applied exactly as standard phantom power through a pair of matched resistors. This appears to have been working fine (for a couple of years now), but from the diagrams on that site it looks like I'm applying an incorrect voltage to one of them. Could I be doing the mic some damage like this? Or, if I were to make one of these conversion boxes, could I be getting more out of the mic? Hmmm... I didn't think the Gefell stuff was T-Power anyway...
