i saw this last night. this was after espn.com reported they had agreed on a new 3 year contract.

my initial reaction: Theo, you prick! - $1.5 Million isn't enough to do the greatest job in the world!! Fucking Primadonna. You think you're the only guy who can read stats and make deals? Have fun in Tampa!

I just don't get it. What makes him think he deserves more?

The whole Manny thing has got me depressed, and now this.

At least they can find some other guy to do Theo's job. I am confident of that.

I don't beleive a word he writes. It looks like that article is an attempt to cover his ass, since Theo is using an earlier article he wrote as an excuse for leaving.

This is appalling for Sox fans. How this was handled by Lucchino, his smearing pr minnions and his reach-around specialist Shaunghessy makes me want to puke!

i think the redsox won the world series based more on previous moves by the former gm but i think just the aquisition of ortiz and how he handled getting him resigned twice for well below market value is enough to say that he was a great gm.
