gmail seems to have gone mad.

has there been a major prolem with the gmail that i don't know about?

it doesn't seem to exist anymore.

what the flying fuck is going down?

It is now Googlemail.

Thay had problems with the name - someone else said it was theirs.

so whats the address now? gmail.com isnt up, nor is there a googlemail.com or .co.uk.

this is really frustrating.

For me, it's the same site it's always been (for the 2 years or whatever)

mail.google.com

It also identifies itself as "GMail" still, so I don't know anything about that. Even the page with all my messages and such, it says GMail very prominently on it.

in europe they had to change it to googlemail. in the us it's still gmail.

i haven't changed anything at all.

i can get to the information pages (about gmail blah blah), but not the login page.

Starting October 19, 2005, the Gmail service will be renamed Google Mail in the UK. We will no longer issue new @gmail.com addresses. All new addresses will be @googlemail.com addresses.

That depends on where your invitation recipients are located. If they are in a country where we issue Gmail addresses, then they will get an @gmail.com address. But from the UK, you will only be able to send Google Mail invitations. If your recipient is also in the UK, he or she will only be able to get an @googlemail.com address.

No, this change doesn’t affect existing Gmail addresses. For now, our plan is only to issue @googlemail.com addresses to new users. Trust that we will do the best we can to offer all our users a reliable and consistent email experience.

listen i have, son. alas the problem seems to continue.

i've managed to get into gmail now, but only through internet explorer which i haven't used in 6 months. it seems that the problem could be to do with firefox, although if others have it working fine through firefox, then i am completely stummped.

a simple google search would have answered your question.

a 'simple' google search hasn't helped me one bit, and unlike alot of people i tried that before i posted anything.

never mind, perhaps this will be another one of those bastard computer problems that will solve itself. fingers crossed...
