I'm not an expert at pinball games but I do have an absolute, hands down favorite. It's called the Cyclone and it's based on a fairgrounds or carnival. It has several ramps, a haunted house, a ferris wheel and crazy multiball play. Cyclone was my favorite before Mr. Bungle sampled it and the samples made me like the song that much more. The best one being "Hey you, with the face!"

A close second was this Dolly Parton one that had to be from the 1960s. No frills and the action was so slow, you could play it as long as you wanted. It used to be in the Palaise Royale, a bar in Albany, NY that was stuck in a time warp from about the 1940s or 50s. It looked to be the same as it was when it originally opened and was owned by the same couple, right up until it closed a few years ago. I think it was more the atmosphere of the bar, rather than the quality of "Dolly" that made me so fond of this machine.

Anyone else on this forum have a favorite pinball game? One they have to play any time they come across it? Unfortunately, I haven't seen either of these games for years but if I do, I'll be dropping some quarters.

The pinballs I have fond memories of playing are Twilight Zone (my favorite, probably), StarWars, Addams Family, and of course the venerable Pinbot.

I remember being in an arcade and hearing Cyclone, and going "Where do I know that from?"

It was odd.

My favorite as a teen was Gorgar. He was a demon with a deep voice. I can't remember much else.

When the Broadway City arcade was still open in Times Square, I would play South Park every night after work.

Edit: I dug through my archive and found a recording of a Williams flexidisc, advertising Gorgar, the first talking pinball machine. Posted it on the gmail account for all to enjoy.

Baywatch.

this was at the local donut shop we used to hand out at constantly during highschool. We played that game so much that we knew the repair man by first name. We would wake up at 6:00 am to get a few hours of Baywatch in before school. One night my buddy and I put $72 into that machine. We ended up playing for about 8 hours with all the free games we were winning. 5 ball multiball. Crazy hidden levels and features. Those were the days.

A truly bitchin' pinball game. My fave of all time as the ramps are absolutely perfect.

In fact, I was so into pinball that my first "studio" was called Silverball Productions. That name sucks.

Amazing. The robot evolves as you play (her face rotates on the board) until you manage to bring her to life.

My favorite pinball machine is Evel Knievel.

If you find yourself in the Bay Area on a Friday or Saturday night, you can play this game and other old pinball machines here.
