ok so i just got scammed and i just want to spread the word so it doesn't happen to another. i feel great shame and yes i realize you shouldn't buy stuff out of the back of a car in a grocery store parking lot but, he was good.

in Austin Tx the company is called worldwide audio. this dude flagged me down as he was pulling in and i was leaving. he said they did home theater systems and he had an extra set that his boss was gonna take when they got to their last delivery, but he could get rid of them and keep the cash instead of his boss. i talked him down to 200 for the 2 towers, he had catalogs with the towers in it listing them at 2 grand. i had him open the box and check to make sure they weren't fake. the speakers are real and at least look good but check this out

its a company scam not a individual, they load up and pedal their bullshit and their audio shit. fuck them hope they burn.

Exactly the same thing happened to my friend in Glasgow.

He payed around £250 for a pair of speakers. They were made by a fake company called BSS (there is a real company called BSS too).

This same scam happens across Europe all the time.

Maybe there's something I'm missing here but why are you upset?

Is it because the speakers are selling so cheap on ebay?

I actually sell legit Home Theatre Systems - Denon, Mission, Totem,B&W
etc...

Did you actually hook 'em up?
If they sound half decent, regardless of their apparent high retail value,
$200 could still be a good price for a set of speakers w. , at the very least finished MDF and half-assed constructed speakers,
in other words it could still be a salvagable deal...regardless of the "no-name" brand and scammish presentation.
The cheapest I sell towers like that for are $200 CDN.
Even for bargain brands.

I had this happen in Albuquerque. I knew the guy was full of shit and I was a dick to him. He had the same story, with the bit about the manager and all that. I could just tell by his "hey buddy I'm your best friend" demeanor..

I DID get ripped off on acoustic foam though. Don't buy "Foam factory" or "foam by mail" foam. The data they have posted is totally false...

I must look like I'm kinda dumb, because the same exact thing has happened to me about four times. Right up to the point where you gave the the money, I never did that.

If someone is too eager to sell you something, then they are obviously hustling.
