Does anyone know where I can find a decent used car (working) for around a 1000 bucks?
Please PM me if you have something or know something.
Thanks a bunch.

You're right.
Those of you who aren't desperate, PM me.
Those of you who are environmentally conscious, know that every day I use my car (which I aim to replace) I am destroying the planet. The car burns more oil than an Iraqi (a little Gulf War I humor,
remember that one fellas?!).
Seriously
I'm poisoning your children.

a good used one can be found for a grand and they last forever (unless some dumbass hits you with no insurance).

I went looking for that and other volvos. There is nothing in my range. There were ones for 4-6 thousand that had over 200,000 miles on them. Thanks though.

for that price, you should be able to find a decent 4cyl small Toyota pickup. useful for hauling, should last forever, good mileage.

Something Japanese or German will probably be a cheap and reliable runner.
I like Volkswagens. What size of car do you want? Boot (trunk) size?

I drive a 1992 Toyota Corolla. Apart from regular upkeep issues (exhaust system/muffler, battery replacement) it has never screwed me over, and it has over 135,000 miles on it.

I will again state the beauty that is a late-80s-mid-90s Honda Civic hatchback. You should be able to get one in the 1000 dollar range easily.
Here's a 1993 in Indiana currently going for $1025. Five days left though.
Still, one without the noisy exhaust and crap should be cheaper.
