I get chills down my spine every time I think of "I miss you", and then another, more power set of chills when I think of the third one, with the important modifaction to "WAAAAAAAUGH I miss you"

Any band that can bring me chills by thinking about them repeating themselves and adding WAAAAAAAUGH can't be considered even remotely close to crap.

Like yourself, Gramsci, I find it hard to believe that no one has posted a Slint poll.

I first heard the Slint tune "Washer" on the WPRB Princeton when I was 14. I had never even heard of the band up until then, but I was immediately taken by them and bought both of their records soon thereafter at Siren Recordshere in Doylestown.

Enough said.

This is really interesting to me. I've seen people say this same thing on this message forum before, and I don't get it...

I like Slint, a lot. But there are a few things they did that rub me the wrong way, and this part is one of them. I think it sounds really, really silly. To me, silly is the best way to describe it. It sounds so contrived, and maybe even forced. This part has never given me the chills, but almost always makes me wince a little bit, on the inside.

Slint is very clearly NOT CRAP. WF:0

perhaps you've never been a old sea captain who had a painfully awkward moment whilst reuniting with a long lost son....i know that's what really connected me to the song

i really missed that kid..

That could be part of it.

The whole sea/ship/captain/gay-ass-pirate imagery in some indie rock can be really off-putting. Maybe that's part of it.

No, that's not it. It's just that particular part of that song. The rest of that song is quite fine. It's just that whisper-to-shout part that's meh.

Alright, fine, I'm just jealous that I never got to be the captain of a ship. Or something?

Funny, I remember the vote being split 50/50 between Slint and Slint
