i am building a small studio and have been considering different consoles. my price range is under 3k and my friend is offering an amek matchless with tt patchbays for 1,500 dollars. it is in good working condition. i will be using outboard gear mainly for tracking, not the onboard pre's. does anyone have any input on these consoles? it will be used mainly for mixing. i have heard bad and good things about them on other forums.

if i'm thinking straight (i've been drinking wine for a few hours, so this may not be the case), that's a slammin deal for that desk. how many channels? i could almost swear i've seen them sell for $4-6k. if so, this dude certainly is a friend.

yeah, 28 channels. it certainly is WELL under what they sell for. he even told me that.

i say play around with it for a good long while, and if you like it, take it home.
