Hello! I've been reading EA for a while now but just thought I should share this with you all!
Underground legends The Jesus Lizard announced plans for a reunion tour early Thursday at the Bottom Line in Austin, Texas. Vocalist David Yow confirmed that so far, 28 shows have been planned, starting January 18 in Detroit, Michigan. Dates will run through the middle of March. Tickets will go on sale for many shows beginning this Saturday.
The concerts will mostly consist of material from the group's six studio albums, Head (1990), Goat (1991), Liar (1992), Down (1994), Shot (1996) and Blue (1998). However, Yow states that the group will perform a smattering of new material he has been working on with JL guitarist Duane Dennison, currently of the Mike Patton-fronted project Tomahawk.
The group (Yow –vocals, Dennison – guitar, David Wm. Sims – bass and Jim Kimball – drums) formed in Chicago, IL in 1987 from the ashes of the seminal punk band Scratch Acid. They released their first four albums on the groundbreaking independent label Touch n' Go before signing to Capitol records in 1996. Capitol dropped the group in early 1999 following poor sales of Blue; the group disbanded later that year.
