Nitzer Ebb, in the song Godhead, wrote:I can create
but only masturbate
they all believe
what I got up my sleeve
they cannot wait
so I guess this is my fate
women, long legs
imbalance to be redressed
if I'm a god
can't keep shooting my load on my own
now bend on down
and receive your crown
I'll give you a necklace to wear
well yeah god is strange
but not sex deranged
no he wouldn't do that with a chair
got a feeling something is happening here
yeah I think it's all coming clear
Essex, you have a lot to answer for.
CRAP

Everything that is not "Belief" "That Total Age" or "Showtime" is utter garbage. Especially that song, which even Beavis & Butthead made fun of.
Those three records though, whoo boy. Not crap.

Kind repetitive. But this song had me screaming and swinging my arms at wax trax in Newark, NJ. This was during my NIN and Meat Beat Manifesto years. Saw both band together @ Drexel for $8.
This band seems gae. Never seen 'em live.

Except for Douglas McCarthy's not-too-convincing growl, they were the most accurate early-80s-DAF imitators ever... down to the actual leather clothes they wore and everything... the synth bass programming even... though Douglas could never be as odd or subversive as Gabi....
I liked them back in the day. Then I heard DAF's "Der Mussolini".. I never really went back... "Getting Closer" has a great intro.. also "Shame" and "Backlash" are alright songs, if you're in that Electronic Body Music mood and want to get down with the goth babes. But I rarely revisit.. so a "crap" with sizeable waffles.

I like tracks from each of the first three records. They are not an important band to me but I enjoy some of their stuff to this day.
N/C with a waffle of 7.

Goddamn it, the poll options should have been "Crebb" and "Nit Crebb".
Shame on me.

I recall a Trent Reznor interview (yeah, I don't want to hear it) where, before Nine Inch Nails had ever toured, he was trying to formulate how to change what was essentially a studio project into a live band. I believe the quote was something like "Most of all, I didn't want it to be like Nitzer Ebb, two pussies hitting pads and triggering samples for an hour." Nitzer Ebb sucked.

i saw NE when they toured for _ebbhead_ at the academy, and the dire memory of watching the bald guy {not mccarthy} do jumping jacks with what i can only guess were mattel {or worlds of wonder?} hit stix, yielding terrific explosions with every clap, will stay with me until i die.

wasn't there some controversy about them being fascists?

Nitzer Ebb?
Maybe Laibach or DAF... but the Ebb guys were about as fascist as Depeche Mode.
