where did you get those?
do you mean the lost 'in on the kill-taker' sessions?

i'd be very interested in how they sounded. apparently fugazi didn't like their vocal performance and so they didn't use them.

from what i gathered... the band wasnt happy with them and redid the whole thing. Steve said he thinks this was the right decision. i dont understand people being so obsessed that they want to hear a band's trash.

Well, probably because it's one of the most admired and respected bands of the last 20 years working with one of the most admired and respected producers (ha!) of the last 20 years. Albini and Fugazi are both pretty popular and gotta lot of mutual fanboys.

Still, I'll trust the band if they say it's not very good.

I'm siding with the "trust the band" crowd. I remember Guy at one point said the band got where it was in its records because it had a very high no-bullshit filter, and judging by the records and just general musical output they have revealed, I think they're more than smart enough to tell whether an experiment of theirs was a success or a failure.

I like hearing demos and a bands "trash". Sometimes you get a different take on a song. For me, each can add to the other.

Wasn't the Instrument soundtrack essentially demos and throw-aways? Good stuff on there.

Then maybe one day it will come out.

Never heard of this. What I did have at one point on CD was an import from Italy called "Net Womb Enemy" - it was like the rough studio sessions of Nirvana's In Utero - it definitely wasn't the final mix of the album - there were over 20 songs and the drums were really loud and the vocals were down - wonder how faithful this recording was to whatever initially came out of the recording... Anyone ever hear of this? Unfortunatley I sold the album to get money for cigarettes over 10 years ago (doh) and a Google search produced nothing. Just wondering...

trust the band and forget about it.

one of the best things about Fugazi that i can recall is that you always knew when they finally did release another album, it would be well worth the wait. i have a lot of respect for that sort of quality control.
