Hi there,
I am building a mini studio in my garage.
I have to redo the whole electricity. I though the earth has to simply go into the ground as deep as possible but I have been told that it was not that simple. Not deep enough, it would not do its job correctly but too deep would make it get some electricity from the ground back into the house.
Any advises ?

You should probaly consult a licensed electrician. Proper grounding is the most important part of power distribution.

3I agree you should have the work done by a licensed electrician. Have it all done to code. Don't skimp or cut corners on this part as it will bite you in the ass down the road... and noise in the line is a best case scenario... fire being the worst.

4the AES website concerning this subject. There is some information on the mesh grounding standard that looks like something to implement right at the beginning, if you plan on doing any serious recording. RF is going to become more of an issue as each year passes...
