Anyone with it? Drawbacks? Highlights? Bottom line: worth dropping $1,000 on?

For anyone whose answer is predicated on what type of equipment the Project Mix will be utilized with, my gear is as follows:

PowerMac G5
Logic Pro 7.1.1
(soon) M-Audio IE(?, might not be exact model number)33

Thanks.

Hi!

I have a project mix running with samplitude v8.
I couldnt get most of those fancy little buttons on the
right to function in samplitude, but it should be no problem in logic! I only use it for fader rides and 8 Mic Inputs are cool (had the firewire 1814 before with only 2 Mic inputs). The price is more than okay imo.
The footswitch input on the back is cool, now I can start recording from behind the drums with a simple marshall channel-switch box.

!! dont buy any other m-audio firewire device as they will not run both at the same time !! M-Audio is working on a driver for this, but don't expect it too soon.

cheers
frank

i've got a tascam fw-1884 and am interested in comparing.

how much control do you have over the input stage on the project mix? the tascam only has gain knobs on the top. is this the same for the project mix?
