VOID!

My favorite hardcore band. As far as the split album goes, never cared much for The Faith. VOID blows them away.

Great singing too.

Matt larcombe wrote:As i stated in another post, one of the greatest bands i've ever had the pleasure of hearing. The Faith were ok, nothing special.

Void's half of their split with Faith is, along with the first N/A record, first Die Kreuzen, first Poison Idea and Black Flag's Damaged, one of the definitive, essential punk rock albums, in my measley opinion.

Void did not just play fast; they were in a hurry. They played at angles to each other. They took what other bands tried to remove from their execution and made a superior sound out of it.

Seconded on Damaged and Negative Approach's 7": these records are very good West, Midwest and East starting points.

We are sad to announce that Sean Finnegan, the drummer from Void and an original member of the Dischord family, passed away on Wednesday January 30th of an apparent heart attack, he was 43. Sean's family will receive friends Monday 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. at HARRY H. WITZKE'S FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 4112 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City, Maryland. So not crap that it's ridiculous. For me, Void blew all the DC stuff away.

Echo remarks in re 'Who are You.' Every song was a battle against the hydra of tempo, feedback, rage, drone, etc. A real maelstrom.

Goddam. A heart attack at 43. I gotta let the stress go. There go I but for the grace of happenstance.
