I'm new to the site/forum. Good stuff. Finding a lot of useful information on here! I was wondering if any engineers could listen to some of my last mixes and tell me what you think. It's my band... black/thrash metal stuff.

Yea that band is great. Sucks they broke up.
The old drummer named my band. He didn't know of the other.

bass drum sounds perfect for the music...very metal!
to be honest...the snare sounds a little ...idk dry i guess. other than the snare...thums up.

I know exactly what you mean. The snare and guitars are my worst part of the mix IMO. I couldn't get the snare to sound half decent without deadening it too much. Which I have a problem with a lot. Like, the ringing is just too present and crappy unless I deaden the snare a lot, and then the snare sounds too dead and dry. Is it just that I am dealing with low quality snares or is there some tricks to cure that annoying ring without deadening the tone so much?
