i've probably seen them play more than a person should, including side bands. not on purpose. i've never felt bad about watching one of their sets. nice, verry nice, in the voice of ali g. but i've never felt compelled to buy a record.

They are wonderful to watch. I have seen them a great number of times due to the fact that we have shared the same city for many years. I have even seen them with vocals. Not at all crap.

They're still around. I believe they are working on a new album.
This is/was the band that out-Tortoised Tortoise.
Yeah, I said it.

It's funny, and I'm not trying to pick a fight or anything, but I've always looked at Mercury Program as a boring, dumbed-down parody of Tortoise. Like if Tortoise never tried to do interesting things, or push itself it would sound like A Data Learn the Language. Mercury Program seem to have one "song formula" and generally stick to it. I'll play their stuff every now and then if I'm entertaining company I wish not to offend.
I guess the world don't move to the beat of just one drum, right?
