That "Mr. Jones" song really gets under my skin--just what we all need: a fake dreadlocked, mulatto Van Morrison--but I think that "Long December" song is kinda pretty. The first time I heard it, I thought it was the Pernice Brothers, and I thought, "What the hell is Joe [a grad school classmate of mine] doing on The Rock?"
Still, this band is totally crap, "Long December" being yet another example of that one decent song by an otherwise wholly reprehensible outfit. And the singer is one of the more physically repellent pop stars in recent memory.

i completely agree.
they are a horrrrrrrrible band, but that song "long december" is quite charming. its a shame they dont play it on popular radio more often.

The 90's just wouldn't have been the same without this band, along with others of their sort like Live, Dave Matthews Band, Matchbox 20, The Wallflowers, Seven Mary Three. I don't even know what to call this music- it's not pop exactly, nor rock. I think if they made Diet Pepsi into a band they would come out sounding like these guys.

A friend of mine was in a bar in new york. That singer dude of this band happened to be sitting next to her. She did not recognize him. He happen to mention that he was in counting crows. She sort of snickered and walked away.
