I like their music. It's been awhile since any of them have released an album, and I can't find any news about them on the Internet. Anybody heard or know anything about what they're up to?

Guy is producing an album by Beauty Pill from DC. they are a phenomenal band, and incredible folks.

That drummer uses those weird cymbals with the extra swishie things.

Me like a lot. Can't wait.

(i guess i was commenting on Beauty pill.)

"The Sea and Cake will begin writing and working on material this fall to record a seventh full length album this winter."

They play the Empty Bottle, yourtown tonight. (24th Feb 06)
Not jealous honest.

Seventh album, not bad for a band who I thought were originally a side
project.

I've listened to one Abilene song (Blackleg) and I really liked it. I know it's on their EP, but can't seem to find it anywhere. Anyone know where I can get this?

Sorry to change topics, but Sam Prekop is going to Austin and I plan on being there. The bill says that he is playing with Archer Prewitt as well. Is Prewitt going to do his own thing, or back up Prekop... I've heard both.

Archer will be playing with/backing up Sam on a mess of Stereolab dates.... I believe that date you mention is on that trip.

Thanks for the info. It seems a shame if Guy Picciotto is not playing music.

Stipendlax, you can purchase the first Abilene record here:

It's worth every penny and more.

What if on a few nights a year they hired babysitters? You know, so you guys could play a few shows again.

Because your band is that good.

Guy for a while was playing with Eddie Janney (Rites Of Spring, One Last Wish, Happy Go Licky) again, and they supposedly had a TON of songs, but not a full band or playable set. No plans on recordings or shows, and last I heard, Mr. and Mrs. Guy were "in a family way".
