i fully endorse doc at the radar station as my number one, followed closely by shiny beast(bat chain puller) at number two.

i'm gonna say trout mask is hard to beat. it's a cluttered mess, sure, but there are enough jewels on there to make you forget about the annoying tracks.

bat chain puller is very good too. 81 poop hatch!

Doc at the Radar Station is my personal favourite, although not everyone agrees with me.

I listen to the others more often, but Trout Mask is the one for me. After I've been listening to it I don't want to listen to anything else until my ears calm down.

I love all the others too, of course.

That "Lick My Decals..." is still out of print is a searing indictment of something, possibly everything

That I can't listen to Trout Mask anymore is my own fault for overlistening. It's still the best, even with inclusion of some of the less stellar stuff on there. Lick My Decals and Safe As Milk are my favorites after that, but Mr Van Vliet never put out any "bad" material, so it's a hard choice!

It's still in print, but only on 180 gram vinyl (most of us probably won't have a problem with that).
