I just picked up a guitar pre amp. But, alas, I don't have a power amp. So...does anyone have any recommendations?

Which Pre did you get? I like the QSC power amps, or else the mesa power amps. The solid state ones are more reliable, I reckon.

Whatever you do, don't buy any of the Marshall valve power amps.....for some unknown reason they sound awful, flat and dull.
However, the Mesa Simul 2:90 is very good. I guess it depends what you it to do and what pre-amp you have.

Which power amp would you suggest me to use along with an IVP Intersound preamp?

Yeah. forgot to mention that. Sorry. It's a SUNN PB-10. SUNN put out a few rackmount versions of their Beta pre amps. The PL-20, which is the Beta Lead pre (and the more common one), and the PB-10, which is the Beta Bass pre. According to a few people that worked at SUNN, only a handful of these were made. The Beta Lead and the Beta Bass have identical tone controls, with the exception that the range of the Beta Bass is shifted one full octave lower. This is ideal, since I play both baritone and bass, and I'd like to be able to use it for both. I have a Beta Lead already but I was never 100% happy with my sound when I'd use my baritone through it. I love low-end stuff and that just never had enough for me.

I'm not really sure how to explain it...so hopefully this makes sense...but I'd like a fairly "neutral" sounding power stage. That way I could use additional pre amps, and use those to really shape the sound, and not have to worry about the power stage providing too much coloration.

I have a Peavy Classic 120 (mono) power amp. I believe it uses 5881 tubes. I just had it serviced about six months ago, which cost me $100 or so, but it was worth it to keep the thing in shape. It's very decent, I bought it for like $150 on eBay, it sounds pretty good and it's built like a freaking tank. It gives a little tube crunch without being overbearing.

That said, I'm saving up for a Mesa 2x50 or 2x90 amp because I like having presence and volume controls on the front of the amp rather than the back, and I'm feeling the itch to run in stereo.

Forget Mesa if you want something wich is neutral . But it's true 50/50 & 90/90 are goooood amps.
Peavy are good & reliable but I don't like them.
If you want something neutral peraps try a good transistor ...

Orange make master amp I think with only one nob ... no ?
