Yeah. forgot to mention that. Sorry. It's a SUNN PB-10. SUNN put out a few rackmount versions of their Beta pre amps. The PL-20, which is the Beta Lead pre (and the more common one), and the PB-10, which is the Beta Bass pre. According to a few people that worked at SUNN, only a handful of these were made. The Beta Lead and the Beta Bass have identical tone controls, with the exception that the range of the Beta Bass is shifted one full octave lower. This is ideal, since I play both baritone and bass, and I'd like to be able to use it for both. I have a Beta Lead already but I was never 100% happy with my sound when I'd use my baritone through it. I love low-end stuff and that just never had enough for me.
I'm not really sure how to explain it...so hopefully this makes sense...but I'd like a fairly "neutral" sounding power stage. That way I could use additional pre amps, and use those to really shape the sound, and not have to worry about the power stage providing too much coloration.
