Oh, fuck. I shouldn't have said anything...this is what happens!
I promise I will write up something nice later, but I have to get and do some business, and it will take too long to tell....

Nothing too juicy, just creepy meetings, E-meters, scary indoctrination videos, confidentiality contracts, world domination and maybe, just maybe, murder?

more later....

You're so gonna disappear once you tell your story.

So tell your story!

This isn't binding if it is a not-for-profit, no? I mean, it's not the government and it's not business. I am being serious, although feel free to make me look dumb for asking...

Also, I can't wait to hear some stories!!! Evil fuckers.

The only requirements for a contract to be valid are that it be an agreement between at least two parties, each of which agrees to give some detriment (work, money, agreement not to talk) in exchange for some benefit (money, peace of mind, whatever. The concept of consideration). With a few exceptions, it needn't even be written. A few types of contracts are unenforceable for various reasons (like life insurance policies taken out by a third party...), but other than that, people can contract about almost anything.

Dunno what the "benefit" would be for signing a confidentiality agreement with the church of crazy alien folk, but I suspect that might be part of one of glueman's stories. Do tell...

The producer and rock Zelig, Joe Boyd wrote a great book called White Bicycles, about his time in the biz-ness.

The chapters recalling how the Incredible String Band became Scientologists, and his experience with being recruited, are great. He did the audits and stuff, but since he was a sceptic just looking for the experience, his account of the process is really interesting.

Fuck!

I had hoped that this thread was long lost....

Soon, I will tell some stories.....I just avoid it because it is long winded and I always end up in a position were it sounds like I am defending them, and I don't want to do that, but I just hate mis-information and rumor and that is mostly what floats around about them. If you guys had been on the inside you would see how much is said about them is either totally wrong or completely taken out of context.......actually, if you are on the inside and see how they operate you would have a completely different set of reasons to hate them or be scared of them......seriously, it is all weird "1984" shit....

I was never a Scientologist or even close...I just worked for them and was highly skeptical....they watched me closely....

Soon, kids....
