I did a search, and found lots of polls about which systems are or are not crap, and whether or not video games can or cannot be considered art, but something important appears to be missing:
What games have you been playing?
To be fair, the reason I'm starting this thread is so I can talk about Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, because this game is kicking my ass all over the place right now. If you have an Xbox 360 or a PC, you owe it to yourself to pick it up. Huge, HUGE environments and tons of plotlines and sub-plotlines for you to discover and complete. It's like if Grand Theft Auto were in a fantasy setting and you didn't have to dedicate your character to a life of crime.
Actually, the only thing it really has in common with GTA is the fact that the world is so huge, but GTA ain't got nothin' on this game.
The most fun I've had with a video game in a long time, and I haven't historically been much of an RPG player. I couldn't get into the previous game in the series (Morrowind), but Bethesda has seemingly improved on every aspect of that game with this latest release.
But, enough of Oblivion (unless anyone else wants to geek out over it with me). What have you been playing?

Thanks, now I have to justify (to myself) buying a goddamn Xbox 360. I was going to wait for PS3. Do you think they'll port this game to PS3?

I am playing Minesweeper and Solitaire, and FUCKING HATING IT.
I wish I still had that copy of Gangsters 2, or that Starcraft was actually somewhere nearly as good as I remember it to have been.

Obviously I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing they won't. I was hoping they'd port Morrowind to the PS2, because I prefer playing on a console to playing on my laptop, but it's a Microsoft game, and I think that's why it didn't happen, and that's why I think it won't happen with this one.
I haven't been playing much of anything lately, but I'm looking to start playing something. I really want to start playing Okami, but it's not coming out till September, and I won't have time for games then. So - gameplayers of EA: Please populate this thread with recommendations of games that may be worth my time and money!
ETA:
This site is full of free web-based or downloadable games, nearly all of which are good, and some of which are great. There's nothing on there as involved as a "real" PC or console game, but some fun diversions. Check out the Hapland games.

Played through the new Ghost Recon for the 360 but decided it wasn't my cup of tea, though it is a good game. Playing Black, but not enjoying it hardly at all. Which leaves Guitar Hero. Which may be the best game ever.
Having a 360 I'm interested in Oblivion, but I've been burned consistently by RPGs. The last two I gave a go were on the original Xbox-Fable and KOTOR. I got barely into either before realizing I just didn't like RPGs. Should I give Oblivion at least a rent, or is it worth even bothering?

I'm forcing myself to play KOTOR now, after completing the sequel (which I fell in love with, up until the point where the ending was CRAP and it was transparent that about half of the game had been cut to get it an early release)

Lazybones - Linus touched on your question already, but yeah, I don't know if it's gonna get ported to PS3. I wouldn't say it's out of the question because Bethesda isn't owned by Microsoft, but I'm just kind of doubting it'll happen. And, to further weigh your options, it's still at least 8 months until the PS3 is even released, and if you haven't preordered already, I bet you won't get one until a year from now (assuming it releases on-time - they're projecting 1 million units on launch day WORLDWIDE. Microsoft could've easily sold through that many 360s in the U.S. alone over the first couple weeks if they were available).
l_o_c - In my opinion, any game that is well-received by critics and the gaming public alike are always worth at least a rent. If you're not into it, you're only out a couple bucks. I didn't like Fable, but I was really into KOTOR, so take that how you will. I'm not much a fan of RPGs usually (with exceptions), but I really like Oblivion.
I'm still anxious for them to release Street Fighter II on Xbox Live.

LOL. I was hoping somebody would say King's Quest, but you've gone and one-upped that by quite a bit. Nicely done. I had Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards when I was a kid/teen, but my sister accidentally wiped out one of the floppies.
What about Police Quest? That was a great game right there, wasn't it? Make sure to walk around your car before getting in or you are 100% CERTAIN TO GET A FLAT. WTF?!?!
New games ain't got nothin on old ones. Keep your fancy 360 games! Give me:
Greenhouse
Montezuma's Revenge
Sammy Lightfoot
Autoduel
Eternal Dagger
And what is to me without question the greatest game ever, Raid on Bungeling Bay for the C64. Released by Br0derbund, it was the first game made by
this guy who did all the "sim" stuff.
All I really ever play these days is Spider Solitaire, and that's only while I'm taking a crap.
The last "real" games I put any serious time into were:
GBA - Blaster Master, Metroid, Super Mario 3, Super Mario 2
PS2 - Tony Hawk : Underground

Did you remember to buy a box of peppermint "lubbers" before you visited the prostitute?
"What a pervert!"
The last video game I played was Unreal Tournament 2003. I fucking loved it so much I became addicted. No more video games for Ryan. No more.
