I have no problems with Iranians aside from their current lunatic wack job leader saying goofy dangerous shit like 'Israel will soon be wiped off the face of the earth' and whatnot. I know nobody wants those sorta assholes in charge over there, and I feel bad that the decent people in Iran are going to get dragged into some serious bullshit when they attack Israel or they finally goad us into atacking them.
Iran has some great movies come out of it from time to time, also some Iranian chicks are really hot as well.

Yes but the politial climate seems to suggest that the combined strength of Iran, Syria and Hamas indicates the path of WWIII.

1) He's not the leader of Iran, he's the president. He doesn't control the military or make many policy decisions. The Mullahs control the government and they don't want war either. Their government is not democratic nor structured like ours.

2) All politics are local. So when the crazy macho president of a fundamentalist religious macho Islamic state declares Jews to be evil and should go die, he's preaching to the choir, or pandering to his base.

3) Our current govenrment has no credibility when it comes to whats up with other countries. If you go to http://www.newamericancentury.org/ and read not only some of their Mid East position papers but their list of signers who also happen to be in or have been in the administration, you might see that these guys are opportunuists who will use any excuse they can muster to advance their theories into practice.

4) A conflict in Iran could result in the destruction of our 5th Navy, which Iran has the ability to destroy now, and pull Turkey, Pakistan and others into a conflict that would become regional and then global. These guys are guys like you and me, who make errors of judgment and assumptions that are wrong, and when they start playing with the levers of power, very bad and unforseen consequences can result.

Do not let their fear mongering cloud your judgement. Fear is the mindkiller.

I think it was General Yamamoto who said after bombing Pearl Harbor: "We have awaken the bear from its slumber". If Iran tried to attack Israel or the United States mainland, retribution would be quick and efficient and they would be making a serious mistake.
